Hey Margaret,
Sounds like you're going to have a blast. Stay safe and we'll see you in the new year.
Klaus and I have stayed home ever since the 2000 scarey stuff when we thought everything was going to go haywire, before that we always went out.
We do have a great time all by ourselves though....... we cook up a big pot of fresh lobster, get a good bottle or two of wine and a fresh baggette and VOILA ! - a perfect party for two. :)
Cheers

Wow, it definitely sounds like you do need a commune - but really when you are with a good group of friends it doesn't matter where you are. Have a great time.
My new years' resolution this year is to stay out of the grocery stores, except on Friday for the weekly shopping. I have this compulsion to stock pile food (something about a former life maybe) :) Anyway the grocery thing is to keep me on budget - my resolution is really to stay on budget, which gets totally thrown out of wack because I keep going to the grocery store for one small thing and then the problem starts. I have a pantry downstairs that resembles one of those shelters from the 50's, my friends say when they run out of food they are coming to my house.
So now I have my budget all set out and if I only do what it says I'll balance out.
Never works but I still try............
See you at the club in January
Cheers

After getting 3 invitations to go out I decided there are too many drunk drivers on the road so I stayed home, sipped sherry, watched a wonderful tribute to Ella Fitzgerald on PBS then tuned to Nathan Phillips Square for some music and the countdown. My cat and I were both happy I didn't have to drive home in the snow.
Hi Sharon,

Phil and I are up at the cottage and we brought in the New Year by taking a snowmobile ride on the lake. We travelled around the large island and saw a few Christmas lights up on the cottager's homes that were up. We also took a walk on the lake at around 10 where we saw beautiful stars. Here and there we would hear voices in the darkness and then lights approaching, and low and behold people were night cross-country skiing! It is snowing a lot today and I am working on my painting and enjoying the view from the window. Happy New Year! Lynn As for resolutions, I am going to try to walk more and travel more. I am going to set goals and work towards them. Always good to have a plan and work at it in small steps. I would also like to read the whole Bible (bible in a year so to speak). Again, all the best, Lynn.
Hey Lynn,
Sounds like you were in Heaven !!
Good luck with your reading marathon........
See you at the club.
Cheers

I cooked pesto penne with vegetables, served with caesar salad and garlic bread for my closest friend, sharing a bottle of Australian shiraz she brought. Then we watched the final two episodes of The Sopranos (I didn't catch it when it ran on HBO late last spring) on CTV -- who, mystifyingly ran the final one over the midnight hour?!?! -- and we were forced to switch quickly to Times Square to watch the ball drop for 2008, kiss and hug, pop open the champagne, pour some glasses and then watch the final 1/2 of the final episode of the show (what an incredible TV series -- probably the best ever, IMHO).
Happy New Year, all. And all the best for 2008!
Hey Allan,
Now that sounds like a romantic evening - sharing food and wine with your favourite person is high on my list too.
You know... I've never seen the Sopranos ??!! - maybe I should check out what I've been missing :)
Cheers
Sharon
