Durham Artists Social Network

A social network for artists, and their friends, in the Durham Region in Ontario

Hi all,

I am interested in discussing specifics of art sales through digital means (i.e. Internet).

I see a variety of approaches: own websites, search engines specialized in art, blogs, etc.

I see reduces visibility of artists, the efforts made (i.e. moving from one search engine to the next, etc.) and I still see that somehow it is all reduces to a picture and some text with prices which cannot be changed, etc..
Along these lines, what will be 'the deluxe' version of presenting offers ?

Also, is a own website a solution ? It seems to me that it is not.
As far as search engines are concerned, I see lots of pictures displayed and it looks to me like a warehouse more then anything else. How is a buyer supposed to choose ? Browsing through thousands of pictures ? How much time does one have ? - again the approach looks to me very inefficient.

If interested...

Blogs seem to alleviate the pain somehow. And again,
