Art Shows??????
Hi fellow artists: I'm just wondering why we go to all the trouble of having art shows.
Do we really expect to sell anything or is it just for fun?
I notice most of the people who sell are either way under priced or their friends buy because they want to encourage you or they feel guilty.
The cards sell well because everyone is so cheap.
I'd like to know your thoughts......???????

I put together art shows on specific themes, i.e: in the past: `The Joy of Falling`, `Family Reunion`, `Moments of Awakening`, etc. and find a gallery or venue that works for them and me. That`s why I go to the trouble of having art shows. If I sell work, that`s a bonus. If not, it`s disappointing -- on the level of not contributing to my income -- but certainly not the main story for me painting and showing.
By the way, my next show will be `My Landscapes` , and I still need to find a venue for it.
