Teaching privately - how to begin.

I want to start teaching, casually, nights and weekends, kids or adults. I have ideas sketched out and even a place to begin with some planning needed.

I was wondering if those of you who do teach privately would share with me how they began advertising in the area. I am not sure which is the most productive, to go through galleries, papers, or stick notices up.
