- I am a photographer and digital artist who originally trained in graphite and watercolor when I started my journey in the visual arts. I turned to digital imaging after my daughter was born in December 2008 and I now work almost exclusively with my camera and the computer although I am still strongly influenced by my roots in traditional media.
As a child growing up on the island of Borneo, I developed a lifelong passion and respect for the environment. Walking through parks and along the shore as well as working in the garden helped to center and strengthen me when I was first diagnosed with ocular histoplasmosis syndrome (OHS) in 1991. Through significant central vision loss and the ongoing threat of blindness, I continue to find peace and comfort in nature. I hope that my art will inspire others to look at the world we live in with new appreciation every day and to become kinder stewards of the spaces we occupy.
