was a visual arts co-ordinator for the catholic board for 24 years. Taught school for a total of 35 years...retired in 92 and I'm still teaching teachers, students and in schools. Coached a major track team in the Pickering area and then coached synchronized swi;mming. Ended up as a national judge. Upon retirement, took up old time fiddle music and play both fiddle and piano. The piano was easy as I already had a background in jazz music.
I have painted in oils, acrylics and watercolour. Presently I work either in w/c or pencil crayon. As well, I work in stencilling
My degree work was from Ottawa, Ryerson and York. I also held specilist in Phys ED. visual arts and Learning materials methodology. My Co-ordinating role covered both the Media Centre and Visual Arts
Jazz Piano, Dixieland Jazz.--I had three favourite piano people..Fats Waller, Errol Garner and Oscar Peterson
I also liked groups such as The Fifth Dimension, The Mommas and the Poppas, Kingston Trio and others of that era. Finally I was a big fan of the The Boss Brass.
As for Old Time..I like both Celtic and the French and Irish jigs and reels.
I had the honour of playing piano for Don Messer and also Natalie McMaster.
Favorite Books:
Stephen King, Nevil Shute, were two favourites but there were many others like Hemmingway, etc....too numerous to mention.
