“FITNESS: BREATHING IS THE GYM FOR THE BRAIN”

Here is a great blog with a very upbeat message and great writing. Here's a sample:

"I had the good fortune to be at the high mountain California observatory just after the first astronauts returned from their time on the Moon. Since I had been a science journalist, the director of the telescope told me that he had a story that those high flying men told him and he had a tape, which has been brought back. Nevertheless, the story is better than the tape because it calls on each of us to use our imagination rather than be passive listeners. He said that out in space the astronauts in the great silence outside the earths magnetic atmosphere, Out in the great silence of space outside the magnetic static of Earths atmosphere, they could hear all the sounds of their inner functions functioning. What joy it brought them to hear the symphony of human chemistry in action. When the director first heard it he thought it was Miles Davis! It is time to hear the music of your being by breathing deeply and quieting everything else and listen."
