I spent the day at the zoo yesterday - I have attached 4 of my gestural type drawings - I have really wanted to get to know how to sketch life in action and it was such a rush to go to the zoo and spend some time with the Gorillas and the Oranagtangs. They are SSSSSSOOOOOOO intelligent! One of the older lady Orangatangs was really interested in my art supplies - she and her son were over really checking out my stuff and I could see that they really wanted to play with the pencils and pastels - I was drawing a portrait of her upside down so that she could watch. The Gorillias were ignoring me at first but after a while they warmed up to me and I was trying to be polite and look down a lot so not to stare too much and trying to let them know that I was 'submissive' in Gorillia body language and several of them came right up to the glass and took a long look at me and my art supplies. I also sketched some ducks who were such a delight - they made me laugh outright several times with their antics.
