- Came to Canada in 1998 from the beautiful island of Borneo in southeast Asia. I was a full-time financial editor for many years before I decided that I wanted to focus more on my art. I now work on editing assignments part-time from home while trying to find more hours in the day to devote to drawing and painting. My husband and I moved from Toronto to Oshawa in August 2006 with our little dog Jack, and we all love it here. I now have a garden where I am trying to establish flowers that I can use in my paintings and I occasionally like to wander around the McLaughlin Art Gallery for inspiration.

Garden musings, Part 1
When we (my husband Steve and I) moved into our little house in
Oshawa, we found that we had many, many projects to tackle before the
character home would shine and sparkle again. One of these projects was
the sadly neglected backyard. Grossly overgrown with weeds, studded

Thank you for referring me to the Oshawa and Ajax art groups. I was looking to join an artists' collective in the region so I could discipline myself to paint for a few hours at a time while being motivated by fellow painters. I think the Ajax group sounds like it might fit the bill! I just have to figure out the bus route from Oshawa to Ajax since I don't drive. As the memberships seem to run from September to August, I think I may plan on becoming a member in the fall.
